A season of friends, familiar faces and some new ones

This past fall was my first official season of my LLC going out into the world. I worried a lot, constantly checked the weather, how the fall foliage was coming along, as well confirming exactly where the sun would be for session shoots. But I really loved it! I really feel truly lucky and blessed.

My clients are basically my friends =). I had devoted friends returning to me for their annual family photographs. I had friends who I hadn't seen for years, also reaching out for my services. I was also lucky to have a few new faces, who were friends of friends, so they basically felt like my friends too! I only had one client this past season that was not connected to me personally at all, so I got to meet someone I would have probably never met if it hadn't been for my business!

It was a successful season because I really felt happy and content with my work but also personally fulfilled. I got to spend time with friends and create memories for them that they can have forever. I was able to create photographs for their holidays cards that they send out to all of the family and friends (including me!). It really is special getting someone's holiday card and you see photographs you helped make!

But a big part of the joy of last season was seeing friends I hadn't seen in years! And they looked the same and we seemed to pick up like it had only been days. I could only tell that time had passed because of how much older their kids looked. Many of them had toddlers and babies before, and now these kids were taller than me or had braces! Not only was it sweet of these families to help support me in my new business, but it felt good to connect with them again too!

My friend and fellow photographer, Emily Campos and I switched services, so not only did I get to capture her family, but she got to capture mine!
